NEW DELHI: Delhi Police has filed an FIR against two YouTubers, including a woman who had accused an ACP of sexual assault, and one unnamed person under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The ACP complained that the woman YouTuber had made casteist remarks against him while police were handling protesters at Jantar Mantar on Oct 3.In his complaint, the officer alleged that the woman referred to his caste while commenting on his nameplate at Buta Singh roundabout, where police were deployed to prevent protesters from proceeding towards Jantar Mantar. He claimed that she made derogatory remarks about his community and questioned how a person belonging to it had become an ACP.According to him, around 3 pm, while he was clearing the way for a bus carrying detainees, the woman accused him of sexually assaulting her. He claimed that she and her associates repeatedly confronted him, obstructing him from performing his official duties.According to the complaint, the woman and others staged a protest outside Parliament Street police station later that evening, raising slogans against him and describing him as a sexual predator and a potential rapist. The officer also complained that posts and reels making similar claims were circulated on social media. The complaint names CJP members Abhijeet Dipke, Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and Ratna Singh in connection with the alleged posts. The FIR was registered on Oct 13 under sections 221 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public functions), 356(2) (defamation) and 3(5) (common intention) of BNS and under SC/ST Act. The case has been assigned to an ACP for investigation.“I was subsequently informed that the woman has two addresses, both falling under the police station that was under my jurisdiction during my previous posting as ACP. It is possible that she became aware of my caste identity during that period. All this has caused immense mental trauma and damaged my reputation. It has taken me some time to process this,” he wrote in his complaint. The woman earlier filed a complaint against the ACP alleging sexual assault, which, according to his complaint, was transferred to the crime branch and is under inquiry.Earlier, Delhi Police arrested a 24-year-old man, claiming to be an independent journalist, for allegedly circulating an AI-generated video targeting the officer. The ACP had also requested the police commissioner to keep his promotion order on hold.
