Ahmedabad: Water supply in East, South zones to be affected due to repairs

Ahmedabad: Due to repair work in the Shedhi Canal, the water supply in the eastern region of Ahmedabad will be affected on May 3 during morning and evening hours. Residents will face water cuts. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s water project department informs the public that the state’s irrigation department supplies raw water from the Shedhi Canal to the Rasakha Water Treatment Plant. Urgent repair work is being undertaken by the state’s irrigation department in the Shedhi Canal, leading to a reduction in water levels. As a result, sufficient water is not available at the Raska water treatment plant, causing an inability to distribute adequate water in the city. The irrigation department is working to normalise water levels by midnight on May 2. Considering this situation, on May 3, there will be a reduction in water supply in the Ramol-Hathijan area and Vastral ward of the East Zone, as well as all water distribution stations in the South Zone. Water will be distributed based on the available quantity in these areas.
