Encroachments outside 120 houses removed in South City-2, illegal Stilt+4 building sealed

GURGAON: The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) on Monday carried out an anti-encroachment drive in South City-2, removing unauthorised structures outside 120 houses in Q-1 block and sealing an illegal Stilt+4 building in Vatika India Next as part of its ongoing crackdown on violations in licensed colonies. The drive in Q-1 block was led by district town planner (enforcement) Amit Madholia. The enforcement team targeted encroachments on the right of way (ROW) of internal roads. The team removed unauthorised staircases, sheds, roadside carts and other projections constructed outside houses along the roads. These structures had encroached upon designated road space, reducing the area available for movement along the internal stretches. In a separate action, the enforcement team sealed an unauthorised Stilt+4 building in Vatika India Next, another licensed colony in the city. The building was found to have been constructed in violation of the applicable rules, prompting the department to initiate sealing action.DTPE Amit Madholia said the department was taking action against encroachments on road rights of way as well as constructions that violated prescribed norms in licensed colonies.Encroachments on internal roads in licensed colonies have remained a concern for residents and enforcement agencies, particularly where staircases, sheds and other extensions spill over from residential plots onto designated road space.Such obstructions can narrow the usable width of roads and affect access for vehicles and pedestrians. Clearing these areas is intended to ensure that the road space earmarked in approved layouts remains available for its designated purpose. The latest action in South City-2 and Vatika India Next reflects the department’s continued focus on enforcing planning norms in licensed colonies, with further drives expected against unauthorised occupation of road space and buildings constructed in violation of regulations.
