2.1 l candidates to appear for TAT-S in Gujarat on May 3, Sunday

Ahmedabad: The State exam Board is set to conduct the Teacher Aptitude Test for secondary schools (TAT-S) on Sunday, a crucial exam for candidates aspiring to become teachers in govt secondary schools across Gujarat. Around 2.1 lakh candidates have registered for the exam. According to official information, the exam will be held from 3pm to 6pm across Ahmedabad city, Ahmedabad rural, Gandhinagar, Rajkot, Surat and Vadodara. The board has made extensive arrangements, setting up 1,058 exam centres and over 10,575 blocks to accommodate the large number of candidates.The TAT-S exam will be conducted for nearly 16 subjects across Gujarati and English mediums, including nine subjects in Gujarati medium and six in English medium. This exam is a key step in the teacher recruitment process, which has led to significant participation from aspiring educators.To ensure smooth and fair conduct, the board has implemented multiple precautionary measures. The GSRTC has been requested to provide additional buses to facilitate transportation for candidates travelling from different regions. Authorities have also ensured uninterrupted power supply at all centres during the exam.Security arrangements have been strengthened, with police deployment at strong rooms, exam centres and along routes used for transporting question papers. CCTV cameras have been installed at all centres to maintain transparency, while observers have been appointed at both state and district levels to monitor the process.Basic facilities such as cleanliness, fans and drinking water have been ensured at all centres, especially for candidates coming from distant areas. Seating arrangements have been made with 20 candidates per classroom to maintain discipline and proper spacing.Additionally, the board has implemented the paper-box authentication and tracking application (PATA) to securely monitor the movement of question papers. With tight security and detailed planning, the exam is being conducted in a fair and organised manner.
