K’taka unions call indefinite bus strike from May 20 | Bengaluru News

Bengaluru: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) of employee unions of state-run road transport corporations has called for an indefinite bus strike from May 20, citing unresolved demands over salary arrears and wage revision. In a statement, JAC criticised the state govt’s decision to limit arrear payments to 26 months instead of 38 months, calling it unilateral and unacceptable. It also opposed the move to implement the revised pay scale from April 1, 2025, rather than Jan 1, 2024, saying the denial of wage revision for 15 months was unjust. The unions have sought a 25% salary hike and said repeated appeals to the government have gone unanswered, forcing them to resort to an indefinite strike.
