Truck driver, 60, dies 11 days after head-on collision in Bilaspur

Gurgaon: A 60-year-old truck driver died after battling injuries for 11 days following a head-on collision between two heavy vehicles in Bilaspur.Shiv Mohan, a resident of Unnao in Uttar Pradesh, succumbed to injuries on April 12 after the accident near the Mitsuba company area on April 1. He was employed as a driver with a Delhi-based transport company and was on his way to a logistics hub in Pathredi when the collision occurred.Police said another truck, allegedly being driven at high speed and in a negligent manner, collided head-on with his vehicle, leaving him critically injured. “He was initially taken to a private hospital in Bilaspur Chowk and later shifted to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, where he died during treatment,” an officer said.Based on a complaint filed by his son-in-law, a case has been registered at Bilaspur police station against an unidentified driver under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the BNS. Police said efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the accused.In a separate incident, Sachin, 25, a resident of Pahad Colony in Sohna, sustained grievous injuries after his motorcycle crashed into a tractor-trolley near Devilal Stadium on April 6 around 9.20pm.Police said the tractor-trolley, allegedly being driven in a rash manner, applied sudden brakes, leading to the collision. Sachin suffered a fractured knee and severe injuries to his jaw and forehead and remains unconscious at a private hospital in Sohna.A case has been registered at City Sohna police station under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 125(b) (act endangering life) of the BNS based on a complaint by his brother.
