Kolkata: The regional transport officer (RTO) attached to the state transport authority (STA), and a middleman, who were arrested by the ACB on Friday for demanding a bribe of Rs 90 lakh, were on Saturday remanded in judicial custody by the Bankshall Court till Monday (Oct 12).The RTO, who was posted at the Beltala transport office, had demanded Rs 1 lakh from a bus operator to renew and modify the bus permit. But the complainant said, the amount was brought down to Rs 90,000 after negotiation.
