Hyderabad: Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao will launch the “TG Organics” mobile app on May 4 in Tandur as part of Praja Palana week, marking the state’s first dedicated digital platform for certified organic farmers.The minister reviewed the app on Friday as part of the govt’s push to strengthen marketing support for organic farmers and improve consumer access to verified produce.The app enables farmers certified by the Telangana State Seed and Organic Certification Authority to directly market and sell their products. Consumers across the state can browse certified organic produce and contact farmers without intermediaries.Officials said the initiative is aimed at curbing counterfeit organic products by linking purchases to verified certification systems.Users can filter products by crop category and connect with farmers using contact details provided on the platform. Initially, the app will display farmers within a 50-km radius, with the option to expand the search range.Around 500 farmers are currently registered, with numbers expected to rise. The platform lists over 100 organic products and includes details of farmers certified by other recognised regional bodies such as Ekalavya Foundation and Centre for Sustainable Agriculture.The app also provides users with farmers’ mobile numbers, addresses, and location details, along with information on available certified organic produce.
