Crime Branch Raids Seven Clinics Across Mumbai, FIR Registered Against 10 Bogus Doctors

Mumbai: The city crime branch Unit 7, with the BMC Medical Officer, raided seven clinics across Mumbai and identified 10 persons allegedly practising medicine without valid medical degrees or registration with the Maharashtra Medical Council.The raids were conducted at Santosh Health Clinic and Vinayak Health Clinic in Bhandup; Hamdam Hospital and Kohinoor Hospital in Jogeshwari; Ankush Ayurvedic Hospital in Borivli; and Deepak Herbal Health Care Clinic in Dahisar. Crime Branch Unit 6 conducted a separate action at Samar Ayurvedic Hospital in Mankhurd.According to police, the accused were allegedly treating patients for various ailments and prescribing allopathic, Ayurvedic and Unani medicines despite not possessing the required qualifications. Some were also allegedly found selling expired Unani and Ayurvedic medicines.Police seized medicines and medical equipment, including bottles, syringes, and antibiotic tablets, collectively valued at around ₹2.20 lakh.A case has been registered at Bhandup Police Station under Sections 33 and 36 of the Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Act, 1961. The investigation has been handed over to Crime Branch Unit 7, Ghatkopar.
