CHENNAI: Traffic diversions will be implemented at the TTK Road-Sriram Nagar North junction for three months from Oct 8 to facilitate Chennai Metro Rail tunnel work.In an official press release, the Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) said that temporary changes are being introduced in connection with the construction of Cross Passage CP-6 as part of the Metro Rail tunnelling work in the area.Vehicles proceeding along TTK Road from Adyar Gate hotel and Abhiramapuram 4th Street towards Sriram Nagar North Street will not be allowed to enter the street directly. Instead, motorists should proceed through TTK Road 1st Cross Street to reach their destination.Similarly, vehicles coming from Sriram Nagar North Street towards the TTK Road will be restricted from taking the existing route. They will instead be diverted through North Street and TTK Road first cross street before proceeding to their destination.Police have asked motorists using the stretch to follow the temporary traffic arrangements during the three-month period.Meanwhile, residents have urged police to put up proper signages along the affected stretches to guide motorists and avoid confusion during the diversion period.
