Gurgaon: A 37-year-old delivery worker was killed after an unidentified vehicle allegedly hit his motorcycle on the Signature Tower flyover Monday night and fled the spot, police said.The deceased was identified as Sunil Kumar, a resident of Sultanpuri, Delhi. Police said they received information about the accident following which a team reached the spot and found Sunil injured. He was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.According to police, the vehicle involved in the accident hit Sunil’s motorcycle causing him to collide with the concrete barricades whose metal handrails were exposed. Sunil’s body was pierced by the exposed handrails, they said. Police received information about the accident at 3:00am Monday and are now scanning CCTV cameras installed on and around the flyover to establish the sequence of events and trace the vehicle.The accident occurred on the flyover under the jurisdiction of Sector 29 police station. Police said they were also trying to establish Sunil’s movements before the accident and whether he was travelling for work at the time.A case was registered under sections 281 (rash driving on a public way) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Sector 29 police station.The body has been kept at the mortuary and the postmortem is scheduled for Tuesday. Police said the medical examination would help establish the exact cause of death.Police said the investigation was underway and the accused driver would be identified and arrested after the vehicle involved in the crash is traced.
