Bengaluru doctor compares city life with tier-3 city: ‘One day off was never enough'
A doctor from Bengaluru shared his experiences contrasting the fast-paced life of the city with the slower pace in Bidar

BENGALURU: A Bengaluru-based doctor’s post comparing the pace of life in Bengaluru and Bidar has sparked a discussion on social media, with several users sharing similar experiences of life in smaller cities. The doctor, who uses the username Thefitdoc on X, said he often felt he never had enough time to get things done in Bengaluru, while his routine in Bidar felt far more relaxed. He wrote, “In Bengaluru, I always felt like I never had enough time to do anything. One day off was never enough ??Here in Bidar, I went for a long run, had a meal, took a nap and it’s still just 2 PM.Might even go for another movie today ??Time really moves slow in a tier3 city.”The post prompted users to compare their own experiences of living in Bengaluru and smaller cities. One user commented, “Fit doc Bidar davra? Nice to know. Naav belgaum davru. At home my family is up at 6 am so I also have to wake up at around 7 or 8am. Now i understand why i felt like my days were big back home.”Another user said, “I also felt the same tier3 city time moves slow….. You from Bidar? I am from there too..”A third user wrote, “It really does. 6-7 baje tak most people get free. In tier 1 cities, raat k 10 kab bajte pata hi nahi. Aur subah 7 baje se bhaagna shuru.”Another user, who said they had lived in Bengaluru for 18 years before moving to a Tier 2 city in Karnataka following a transfer, also agreed with the doctor’s observation.“After residing in Bengaluru for 18 years, shifted to Tier 2 Karnataka city on effect of transfer. slower pace of life, can agree with you here. In Bengaluru being closer to workplace and kid’s school is a blessing. But staring at another transfer back to Bengaluru though “The comments reflected a common contrast between the fast-paced routine of Bengaluru and the slower rhythm that some users said they experienced in smaller Karnataka cities.
