BENGALURU: A former IT professional in Bengaluru has switched from a corporate job to driving a Rapido auto after her father’s death, saying the move allows her to stay closer to her mother and gives her greater control over her time.Her story was shared online after digital content creator Tanvi spoke to her during an auto ride and posted their conversation on Instagram.

Why she left her IT job

The woman said she was working night shifts in the IT sector when her father passed away. With her mother at home, she found it difficult to balance the demands of her job with being available for her.She eventually decided to quit IT and take up auto driving with Rapido. She said her family initially opposed the decision, but she chose a career that suited her circumstances better.The woman also said driving an auto is not a lesser profession and claimed that she now earns more than she did in her IT job.
