Ahmedabad: Students of Gujarat University (GU) have objected to the scheduling of two examinations on the same day and at the same time, alleging that the clash has put several students in a difficult position.According to students, the university’s examination department has scheduled regular and backlog/ATKT papers simultaneously in the timetable. They said students who are required to appear for both examinations are now being forced to choose between the two, raising concerns that their academic year could be affected because of an administrative lapse.Students questioned how the university could schedule overlapping examinations for the same candidates despite collecting examination fees for both papers. They said they had spent months preparing for the exams and should not have to bear the consequences of a timetable error. They further claimed that the examination department and university authorities were informed about the issue on multiple occasions. However, no revised timetable or alternative arrangement has been announced so far, they alleged. The students have demanded that the university immediately reschedule the clashing examinations.Students said they may launch a protest and gherao on the university campus if the administration fails to provide an official solution or announce alternative arrangements soon.
