Seven illegally constructed residential units in Fatehwadi razed
Seven illegally built houses demolished in Fatehwadi, Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: In a decisive enforcement action on Wednesday, the estate department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) successfully carried out the full demolition of seven illegally constructed row house-type residential structures situated within the densely populated Fatehwadi area of Sarkhej ward.Prior to this major crackdown, the estate department of AMC’s South West Zone had duly issued a formal notice regarding the unauthorised construction in Fatehwadi, strictly directing the owners that it be removed immediately to avoid legal consequences.Initially, the premises were officially sealed by civic authorities to prevent any further usage or public occupancy. However, instead of voluntarily removing the illegal structures as instructed, the defiant builder audaciously broke the seal and illegally resumed operations at the site.Consequently, to effectively restrain the continued use of this unauthorised development, the estate department swiftly undertook demolition proceedings on Wednesday. In total, 7,101 sq ft of illegal construction, primarily comprising seven unauthorised residential row houses, was demolished and cleared from the land.
