Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has moved a local court seeking to impound the passports of BRS working president KT Rama Rao and three other accused in the Formula E case, adding a fresh legal dimension to the ongoing investigation into the alleged transfer of funds to the UK-based Formula E Organisation (FEO).According to KTR’s advocate Jakkula Laxman, the ACB on Sept 26 filed a memo before the ACB special court in Nampally seeking impounding of the passports of the four accused named in the case.“ACB wanted the passports of the BRS MLA and three others to be furnished before the court as part of the investigation. The court will issue a notice to us regarding the memo filed by the ACB, and we will file a counter. Subsequently, the court will hear the arguments on the matter and issue orders,” Laxman said.Apart from KTR’s, the ACB has sought impounding of the passports of former municipal administration special chief secretary Arvind Kumar, HMDA former chief engineer BLN Reddy and Ace Nxt Gen executive G Kiran Malleswara Rao.The ACB registered a case in Dec 2024 against KTR and others, alleging that ₹55 crore was diverted to FEO in violation of prescribed procedures.In March 2026, the ACB filed a chargesheet against KTR, Arvind Kumar, Reddy, FEO representative Alberto Longo and Kiran Rao in connection with the case.
