Vasai: A 20-year-old woman was allegedly raped after being promised a role in a film, with the accused also allegedly taking her obscene photographs. Naigaon police have registered a case against four persons in connection with the incident.The woman, a resident of Dharashiv, met accused Jatin Doshi, a Kandivli resident, on Instagram in Aug. He allegedly claimed to be a singer in the film industry and promised to help her get work. According to her complaint, he conducted an audition through a video call and later asked her to send semi-nude photographs, saying she would have to appear bold for film roles.On Sept 16, he allegedly called her to Borivli, altered details on her Aadhaar card and took her to a hotel within the Naigaon police jurisdiction, where he allegedly raped her after threatening to circulate the photographs. He allegedly later asked her to meet three other men. The woman refused and returned to Dharashiv. She later approached Naigaon police after allegedly receiving threats from Doshi and Ananda Mudaliyar.Police have registered a case against Doshi, Minaj Rehman, Mudaliyar and Rishabh Doshi under rape and provisions of the Information Technology Act. The case has been transferred to Anand Nagar police station in Dharashiv for further investigation.
