Rajkot: The Rajkot Municipal Corporation’s tax recovery department will begin a city-wide property survey from Sept 28 to update its property database.The survey, covering residential and non-residential properties across all 18 wards, has been assigned to a private agency. Its employees will visit properties and use a mobile application to geo-tag them and update details such as addresses, property owners’ mobile numbers and water connections.In a statement, RMC said the survey is only intended to update the database of properties recorded by its tax recovery Department. Surveyors have not been authorised to collect taxes or alter property assessments.Residents have been warned not to share OTPs or bank details with the surveyors and not to make any financial transactions with them. No surveyor has been authorised to collect money of any kind.The civic body has also advised residents not to allow anyone without a valid identity card to enter their property. Any surveyor seeking an OTP, money or bank details should be reported to the RMC call centre at 155304.
