Jhajjar: A CISF inspector, his wife and the driver of an ambulance they were travelling in were killed after the vehicle rammed into a truck on the Jhajjar-Gurgaon road near Pelpa village, 20km from here, around 6pm on Saturday. Their son, Pankaj, suffered multiple fractures and is being treated in an ICU.CISF inspector Som Prakash (59) and his wife Lakshmi (59) when they were being taken to PGIMS, Rohtak, while ambulance driver Pramod (35) died on the spot. Prakash, a resident of Kachha Babra Road, had met with an accident on Aug 30 and was undergoing treatment at a Gurgaon hospital. Lakshmi and Pankaj had hired Pramod’s ambulance for the journey to Jhajjar.Som Prakash, Lakshmi and Pankaj were first taken to the Jhajjar civil hospital. Prakash and Lakshmi were then referred to PGIMS, Rohtak, where they succumbed to injuries.Pankaj was later admitted to a private hospital. Dr Ankit of Advanta Hospital said Pankaj was conscious and breathing normally despite multiple fractures. His blood pressure and blood sugar were within normal range and doctors were monitoring him in the ICU, he added.Prakash’s younger son, Preetam, alleged negligence at Jhajjar civil hospital. He claimed no attendant accompanied his parents during their transfer to PGIMS and alleged they were not provided oxygen. The hospital administration’s response was not available.Badli police station SHO Sumit said the bodies of Pramod and the couple were kept at civil hospital and PGI Rohtak, respectively, with postmortems scheduled for Monday. Police have registered a case against the truck driver, who allegedly fled after the crash. Circumstances leading to the crash are under investigation.
