Rain in Kolkata on Friday
Kolkata: The deep depression that had kept the city under its spell over the past couple of days has weakened into a low-pressure area and moved to Chhatisgarh. After a rainy Thursday, Friday saw only a few spells of rain with the sun emerging on and off. “We will see further improvement in the weather from Saturday. However we can expect scattered light rain,” said H R Biswas, head at RMC, Kolkata.On Friday, Alipore logged 23.8 mm of rainfall in 24 hours till 5.30 pm. At 30.6°C, the maximum temperature was 1.9 notches below normal.
