Chennai: A special court for Pocso cases on Friday extended the judicial custody of granite baron R Veeramani, who was arrested on Aug 29 in a child rape case, till Oct 9. Veeramani, who has been lodged in the Puzhal prison, was produced before the court through video-conferencing.Recording his appearance, special judge S Padma passed the order. Veeramani, chairman of Gem Granites was arrested on Aug 29, by the Chennai Police’s Anti-Vice Squad under the POCSO Act for the alleged sexual abuse of a minor girl.
