Hyderabad: The BJP has put in place a five-member leadership structure to oversee its affairs in Telangana, with the appointment of two key functionaries to strengthen the party’s grassroots network in the state.The new five-member arrangement, comprising three leaders handling political affairs and two overseeing organisational responsibilities from Hyderabad and Warangal, comes as the BJP seeks to further expand its footprint and presence across Telangana.The party appointed Madhukar as state general secretary (organisation) for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and Dashrath as state joint general secretary (organisation) for Telangana.According to a notification issued by the BJP central leadership, Madhukar will have Hyderabad as his centre, while Dashrath will function from Warangal. The appointments were part of a broader organisational reshuffle announced by BJP national president Nitin Nabin.Madhukar, a native of Khammam and an RSS worker, will oversee organisational responsibilities for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from Hyderabad. He replaces Chandrashekhar Tiwari, who has been appointed state general secretary (organisation) of Madhya Pradesh BJP. Madhukar is the third organisational secretary to be appointed for Telangana since the state’s formation.Dashrath is considered a close aide of BJP national general secretary (organisation) BL Santhosh.On the political side, Sunil Bansal has been retained as Telangana in charge, with Karnataka MLA Abhay Patil and Rekha Sharma continuing as co-in charges. Bansal will also continue as the party’s West Bengal in charge.The latest appointments mark a transition in Telangana BJP’s organisational leadership. Mantri Srinivasulu served as the organisational secretary after the formation of Telangana, followed by Tiwari.
