Shimla: Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for six development projects worth Rs 237 crore in Sarahan of Sirmaur’s Pachhad assembly constituency.The projects include five water supply and irrigation schemes worth Rs 33.7 crore, aimed at improving drinking water availability and irrigation facilities in villages across Pachhad and Rajgarh.Among the inaugurated projects is the Rs 26.5-crore lift water supply scheme from the Giri river for villages in Narag Nohra, Dilman, Saria, Mehlog Lal Tiker, Daron Deoria Drabali, Sarol Chameji, Wasni, and Naina Tikker.Other projects include water supply and lift irrigation schemes ranging from Rs 1.2 crore to Rs 2.8 crore.The CM also laid the foundation stone of the Rs 203-crore Chhailla-Neripul-Yashwant Nagar-Kumarhatti road. Sukhu said the road would provide improved connectivity for apple growers, facilitating faster transportation of produce and reduced post-harvest losses.
