Dimapur: Altogether 24,178 electors have been listed as “uncollectable” in the six assembly constituencies of Kohima district following the publication of the draft electoral roll under the special intensive revision (SIR) on Sept 20.According to a notice issued by Kohima deputy commissioner and district election officer B Henok Buchem on Thursday, the draft electoral roll was prepared based on enumeration forms collected by booth-level officers from all polling stations.The list of electors whose enumeration forms could not be collected was prepared at all polling stations following meetings between BLOs, booth-level agents of political parties and other stakeholders.The uncollectable cases were categorised under five reasons — death, permanent shifting, untraceable or absent, already enrolled, and refusal to sign or submit the enumeration form.The Kohima Town assembly constituency recorded the highest number of uncollectable cases at 11,622, followed by Northern Angami-I with 4,057, Northern Angami-II with 3,196, Western Angami with 2,966, Southern Angami-I with 1,220 and Southern Angami-II with 870.Across the six constituencies, 3,324 electors were listed under death, 12,521 as permanently shifted, 6,712 as untraceable or absent, 751 as already enrolled and 870 for refusing to sign or submit the enumeration form.The notice stated that any aggrieved person may seek redressal before the concerned electoral registration officer on or before Oct 20.
