New Delhi: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav Wednesday alleged that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls was not being conducted in a fair and transparent manner and accused Election Commission (EC) of adopting a differential approach towards voters.Yadav claimed that the process had become a “farce”, alleging that discrepancies in the records of influential persons were being resolved promptly, while ordinary voters, particularly those living in JJ clusters and unauthorised colonies, were being given limited time to respond to notices.“The Election Commission has reduced the SIR exercise to a farce by treating VIPs and common voters differently. While discrepancies in the records of influential people, including chief minister Rekha Gupta, were corrected through home visits by officials, 31.6 lakh ordinary voters, particularly those living in JJ clusters and unauthorised colonies, have been given just a week to address anomalies in their records,” he claimed.
