Pune: NCP (SP) MLA Rohit Pawar has extended support to the protest of MPSC aspirants, who will resume their agitation in Pune from Sept 26, demanding action over alleged examination irregularities, recruitment delays and the functioning of the commission.Pawar has renewed his demand for the resignation of MPSC chairman Vivek Bhimanwar and appointment of a new chairman after consulting students. He said, “The govt started the promised recruitment to 70,000 posts in 2026 and introduced a system allowing candidates to take examinations throughout the year through a Rs100 card.”The fresh protest follows the Sept 7 student march in Pune, where aspirants had demanded greater transparency in MPSC examinations and action over alleged irregularities. The students had also sought changes in the commission’s functioning.Pawar said no decision had yet been taken on the chairman’s resignation despite the earlier agitation. He has informed Pune police commissioner about the proposed protest and appealed to police to cooperate with the students. Bhimanwar has rejected allegations against him and said the drug inspector paper leak occurred before he took charge as MPSC chairman. He has also said he would resign if evidence was provided against him.
