New Delhi: Several prominent schools in Delhi received bomb threats on Monday. The message claimed that, besides the schools, several trains headed towards Punjab would also be targeted. The threat, which was sent via email in Punjabi, prompted immediate security checks on the school premises.The emails, received at 9.39 am by Air Force Bal Bharati School, Kendriya Vidyalaya Gole Market and Mount St. Mary’s School, Delhi Cantt, contained the subject line “B”00mmmb @ Delhi Schools @ 11:11AM.”One line in the threat said, “Save your children. All trains coming to Punjab from Delhi will be targeted using explosives.”The email stated the Shan-e-Punjab Express and the Swarn Shatabdi would be among the targeted trains.Following the threats, Delhi Police deployed bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog units to conduct thorough searches of the school premises. Multiple fire tenders and ambulances were kept on standby as a precautionary measure. Sniffer dogs searched classrooms, corridors and open areas, while personnel from the bomb detection and disposal squads scanned the area. Local police personnel were also deployed to maintain security around the schools.Last week also, some schools, including Air Force Bal Bharati School, had received bomb threats.
