Gurgaon: Two young men were killed in separate road accidents in Gurgaon on Friday night, with police registering cases against the drivers of the vehicles involved and starting efforts to trace them. In both cases, the victims were riding two-wheelers when they were allegedly hit by cars or unidentified vehicles.In the first incident, a 27-year-old car painter was killed after an unidentified vehicle allegedly hit his motorcycle near Privana Society in Sector 77 around 10pm. Nitesh Sahu, a native of Niwadi in Madhya Pradesh, worked at City Space Society in Sector 67 and lived in a rented room in Badshahpur.According to the complaint filed by his father Hariom Sahu, Nitesh was returning from Kherki Daula village when the collision took place on DLF Road. He was riding the motorcycle when an unidentified vehicle allegedly hit it near Privana Society.Nitesh suffered serious injuries to his head and neck. Passersby took him to MET Hospital in Rampura, where he died during treatment.Police said they received information about the accident and sent an investigating officer and a constable to the spot. The officer later reached the hospital and learnt that Nitesh had died. His body was subsequently shifted to the mortuary.His father approached Kherki Daula police station on Sept 19, following which an FIR was registered under sections 106 (causing death by negligence) and 281 (rash driving) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.“Efforts are under way to identify the vehicle involved. We are also checking the accident spot and available leads to trace the vehicle and its driver,” a police officer said.In the second incident, a 24-year-old Zomato delivery executive was killed after a car allegedly rammed his scooty head-on on Shikohpur Road around 11.50pm.Amit Kumar, a native of Gopalganj in Bihar, lived in Naharpur and worked out of Zomato’s Sector 69 office. He was riding a ZYPP scooty from Vatika Chowk towards Shikohpur to deliver an order when the collision occurred.According to the complaint filed by his relative Vijay Kumar, the car was travelling at high speed from the opposite direction when it allegedly hit Amit’s scooty. Passersby took him to MET Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Police later shifted his body to Civil Hospital, Sector 10, for post-mortem.Vijay told police that Amit was his maternal aunt Malti Devi’s son and had been staying with their family. As Malti Devi was in Bihar and would take time to reach Gurgaon, Vijay approached the police and filed the complaint.An FIR was registered at Kherki Daula police station under sections 106 and 281 of the BNS. Police are examining the accident site and other available leads to establish the sequence of events and trace the driver.
