Heavy rain likely today, tomorrow
Ahmedabad roads were flooded due to the sudden heavy downpour on Sunday, Sept 13, forcing vehicles into a crawl

Ahmedabad: A trough from northeast Arabian Sea to Bihar and another from southwest Arabian Sea to southwest Madhya Pradesh poured heavy rain over several parts of Gujarat on Sunday. The system could have a similar effect for the next couple of days too. Weather experts said this could be the last major spell before withdrawal of the southwest monsoon.India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast very heavy rain in parts of Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh, Devbhumi Dwarka, Gir-Somnath, Bharuch, Surat and Navsari.Heavy rain is likely in Ahmedabad, Anand, Narmada, Tapi, Dang, Valsad, Surendranagar, Rajkot, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Morbi, Botad and Kutch on Monday. Other parts of the state may experience light to moderate showers.The system is likely to weaken on Tuesday, but heavy rain is still likely in Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Junagadh and Devbhumi Dwarka. Other districts may experience light to moderate rainfall, IMD states.On Sunday, Ahmedabad recorded near-normal temperatures. The maximum was 33.5 degrees, 0.1 degree below normal. The minimum was 26 degrees, 1 degree above normal.
