Jaipur: Cabinet minister Kirori Lal Meena Wednesday said that he will donate his one month’s salary to support a tribal man from Odisha after a disturbing incident in Keonjhar district drew national attention.The case involves Jitu Munda, who reportedly reached a bank carrying the skeletal remains of his deceased sister, highlighting alleged bureaucratic hurdles and delays in accessing benefits.Expressing anguish, Meena said he was deeply moved by the incident. “Jitu Munda’s pain is my pain, his suffering is my suffering. It is my duty to stand with him in this difficult time,” he said in a post on X.He added that he would donate his entire one month’s salary, amounting to about ₹1.45 lakh, including salary and allowances, to the family.Calling the incident a “stain on society”, Meena also urged Odisha chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi to take action. “Such harassment in the name of paperwork faced by a poor tribal is unacceptable,” he said.The incident has sparked outrage, with calls for accountability and better access to welfare benefits for marginalised communities.
