Dibrugarh: A two-day conference of Assam’s district commissioners began in Jorhat on Sunday, with CM Himanta Biswa Sarma chairing discussions on district administration and implementation of govt programmes.The conference is being attended by district commissioners across the state, chief secretary Ravi Kota and cabinet ministers.Discussions are expected to be held on focusing on improving coordination between the state govt and district administrations, reviewing district-wise progress and expediting welfare and development schemes.The meeting is also expected to assess public service delivery, infrastructure projects and other priority programmes, identify bottlenecks and issue directions for time-bound completion of projects.District commissioners are expected to present updates and outline challenges in their respective districts, while participation of senior political and administrative officials is expected to facilitate discussions on issues requiring inter-departmental coordination.Meanwhile, on Sunday, Sarma inaugurated the newly built integrated district commissioner’s office at Cinnamara, along with other projects in Jorhat and Sivasagar.
