Driver dies after iron rods pierce bus during overtaking on Karnataka highway
The accident occurred as the bus tried to pass a tractor laden with iron rods, which tragically caused the rods to enter the bus

MANDYA: A KSRTC bus driver was killed on the spot and eight passengers were injured in a road accident on Bengaluru-Mandya highway near Devirahalli Junction in Nagamangala taluk of Mandya district.The accident occurred when the KSRTC bus was attempting to overtake a tractor carrying iron rods.During the overtaking manoeuvre, the rods protruding from the tractor reportedly pierced through the front portion of the bus, fatally injuring the driver and causing panic among the passengers.Several passengers sustained injuries in the accident and were shifted to Adichunchanagiri Medical Sciences for treatment. The condition of some of the injured is said to be serious.The accident occurred within the limits of Bellur police station. Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
