BENGALURU: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday morning launched widespread raids across 18 locations linked to Karnataka Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Satish Jarkiholi and his daughter, Chikkodi Lok Sabha MP Priyanka Jarkiholi. The multi-city operation, conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), has intensified political ripples across the state.Amid speculation, sources in the federal agency clarified that the ongoing operation is part of a fresh, independent investigation.Officials emphasised that the raids are not connected to the high-profile excise department corruption case involving the minister’s brother-in-law, Additional Excise Commissioner Y.D. Manjunath, which was investigated earlier in June.
