Kolkata: The state govt has decided to increase the monthly remuneration and allowances of more than 1 lakh employees and contractual staff, chief minister Suvendu Adhikari announced on Monday. He also said that it would entail an additional annual expenditure of around Rs 390 crore.“The remuneration of 20,343 primary-level para-teachers has been increased by Rs 5,000, from the existing Rs 11,941 to Rs 16,941 per month. The hike will be effective from Nov 1. At the upper-primary level, 21,849 para-teachers will also receive a Rs 5,000 increase. Their remuneration will rise from Rs 15,523 to Rs 20,523 per month,” CM said.There are 2,280 Siksha Bandhus, whose remuneration has also been increased by Rs 5,000. They currently receive Rs 9,954 per month and will receive Rs 16,941. The remuneration of 21 special educators has been increased by Rs 5,000. They will receive Rs 20,896 instead of the existing Rs 14,924 from Nov 1.There are 2,174 management staff. In their case, those drawing remuneration of Rs 25,000 or below will receive an increase of Rs 5,000. Those drawing Rs 40,000 or below will get an increase of Rs 7,000, while those receiving Rs 55,000 or below but above Rs 40,000 will get an increase of Rs 10,000.The remuneration of 30,592 Sahayaks (teachers) of SSKs (Sishu Siksha Kendras) has also been increased by Rs 5,000. Similarly, 6,291 Samprasaris (teachers) of MSKs (Madhyamik Siksha Kendras) will receive a Rs 5,000 hike. The remuneration of 327 Mukhya Samprasaris (head teachers) of MSKs has been increased by Rs 6,000. The remuneration of 492 academic supervisors has also been increased by Rs 5,000.The Cabinet also approved a Rs 5,000 monthly increase in allowances for deputy rangers, foresters, head forest guards and forest guards from Oct 1. The remuneration of 1,500 forest assistants will rise by Rs 2,000 from the same date.The medical allowance for former MLAs has been increased from Rs 6,000 to Rs 10,000 a month with effect from Aug 1. MLAs running Seva Kendras named after Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will receive Rs 30,000 a month towards their operation from June 1, the CM announced.
