Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao said the party would continue its agitation against the Congress govt until the pending fee reimbursement dues of students were released.Rao, who was detained at Golconda police station during the BJP and BJYM’s ‘assembly gherao’ on Monday, said the party had called for the protest after authorities denied permission for a peaceful dharna at Dharna Chowk.Rao alleged that police dealt harshly with BJP leaders and workers during the protest. Several party workers were injured in the alleged pushing and lathi charge, while some were admitted to hospitals, he said.He also claimed that Ameerpet corporator Sarala fell seriously ill when police detained her during the protest near the assembly. She is undergoing emergency treatment in the ICU of a hospital near Kulsumpura police station, he said.Rao said the BJP had been consistently raising the issue of fee reimbursement dues. The BJYM had earlier collected signatures from around eight lakh students across Telangana and attempted to submit the representation to the chief minister, but Revanth Reddy did not give them an appointment, he alleged. He said the arrests and cases would not stop the BJP’s agitation and vowed to intensify the pressure on the govt over the issue.
