Jaipur: A 21-year-old man was arrested for allegedly abducting and sexually assaulting a 15-year-old schoolgirl from his neighbourhood in the Malpura Gate area.According to the complaint, the incident took place on Sept 4 when the accused allegedly lured the Class X student out of her locality on the pretext of meeting her. He allegedly took her in a car to an isolated location in Jaipur, where he sexually assaulted her and threatened her with consequences if she disclosed the incident.Police said the accused allegedly left the girl at the spot later that evening. She returned home and informed her family, after which they approached Malpura Gate police.A case was registered under relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.“The medical examination of the minor has been conducted and her statement has also been recorded. The accused was arrested Sunday and produced before a POCSO court Monday, which sent him to judicial custody,” an investigating officer said.Police said the accused and the minor lived in the same locality.
