Lucknow: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday reached out to flood-affected families in Chitrakoot and personally handed over financial aid to them during a relief material distribution programme at Ramayan Mela ground.As immediate relief, each beneficiary whose house has suffered severe damage will receive Rs 1.20 lakh. Yogi also distributed house allotment letters to three individuals whose homes were washed away by the strong currents of Mandakini river.While interacting with the affected families, the CM also enquired about the response mechanism activated by the local administration and handed out ration kits to them.“Uttar Pradesh govt stands firmly with you in this time of crisis. Not a single affected family is going to be ignored or left out. The govt will provide every possible assistance without discrimination to all affected people from every section of society,” CM Yogi said.After receiving relief material and assurances, people expressed their gratitude towards Yogi govt. Rani and Manju, residents of the Sitapur Malkana locality, said, “Our entire house was submerged in the flood and all our belongings have been destroyed. We were fortunate to receive relief material directly from the UP CM during the programme. Before leaving, he assured us that we would soon get our houses back.”Asha, a resident of Katra Gujar village, said, “We have been continuously receiving food and essential supplies since the very first day of the floods.”CM Yogi’s prompt visit and sensitive behaviour towards the affected people were widely appreciated. After visiting the flood-affected areas, Yogi held a review meeting with the local administration and directed officials to restore normalcy as quickly as possible and expedite rehabilitation efforts.
