30-year-old Nepalese man killed in Gurgaon hit and run
The deceased had come to visit his cousin in Gurgaon on Friday evening

Gurgaon: A 30-year-old Nepalese man died after an unidentified truck allegedly hit him in Harijan Colony, Sector 43, in the early hours of Saturday. Police have registered an FIR against the unknown truck driver and are working to trace the vehicle.According to the complaint filed by the deceased’s cousin, Subhash, the deceased, Nirmal, a resident of Dodhara Chandni in Nepal currently staying in Greater Noida, had come to visit him in Gurgaon on Friday evening. Around 1 am on Saturday, the two were returning to their room after dinner when a truck, allegedly being driven at high speed and in a negligent manner, hit Nirmal on the main road in Harijan Colony. Subhash told police he could not note down the truck’s registration number.Subhash took Nirmal to Paras Hospital in Gurgaon, where doctors declared him dead. Police reached the hospital after being informed of the death, took the body into custody, and registered a case at Sushant Lok police station under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) on Subhash’s complaint.“On the basis of the complaint, a case has been registered. The investigation has been taken up and efforts are being made to identify the vehicle involved in the accident,” a police officer said. “Further action will be taken after the vehicle and driver involved in the accident are identified.”The officer said the deceased’s family members had been informed and the body was sent to the mortuary for further proceedings.In a separate accident, a man was hit by a Bolero pickup truck near the Emaar building in Sector 62 on Sunday morning. An officer privy to the investigation said, “An information was received from the civil hospital in Sector 10. The accident occurred around 9 am and the body was lying on the roadside. Passerby had rushed him to the hospital.”The man’s identity was yet to be ascertained, and the body has been kept in the mortuary. “The CCTV footage of the area will be analysed to ascertain the sequence of events and team is also trying to ascertain the details of the deceased,” the officer said.
