Panaji: GFP chief and Fatorda legislator Vijai Sardesai, on Tuesday said, “Goa is completely ‘Ram bharose’ (at God’s mercy).”“There’s no vision, no policy, no roadmap. Govt is busy issuing taxi permits and rent-a-cab permissions, and creating chaos where locals and outsiders are forced to fight while tourism collapses,” he said.While those depending on tourism have no idea about what the future holds for them, and inflation is staring people in the face, state govt, Sardesai said, has no concrete plan to protect families or livelihoods.Rather than focusing on creating jobs and bettering development, BJP govt, he alleged, has been importing divisive elements to disturb Goa’s religious harmony and polarise voters through communal elements.“Insults to St Francis Xavier cannot be tolerated just as insults to Hindu gods cannot be tolerated. Goans reject this politics of division. We know the tricks being played,” Sardesai said.
