The sentence was awarded by the Court of the Additional District and Sessions Judge. According to the Kurukshetra district attorney, the convict, Vishal, a resident of Ladwa, Kurukshetra district, was found guilty in a case registered on the complaint of a local woman. In her complaint lodged at Ladwa police station to Kurukshetra police, the woman stated that she has 3 children and that her eldest daughter, a minor studying in Class IX at a govt school, went to school on October 14, 2023. Upon learning that the school was closed, the girl was returning home when the accused allegedly molested her, asked her to sit in his car, and threatened to kill her when she raised an alarm, before fleeing the scene.Following the complaint, the police registered a case under relevant sections. The investigation was conducted by Sub-Inspector Kamlesh Kumari, during which the accused was arrested and sent to judicial custody as per court orders. After completion of the investigation, the challan was presented before the court. After regular hearings, the court, on February 23, 2026, convicted the accused on the basis of witness testimony and documentary evidence.
