Noida: Police have busted an alleged two-wheeler theft gang with the arrest of a 20-year-old man and detention of two juveniles, recovering nine motorcycles and a scooter suspected to have been stolen.The action was taken by Phase-3 police on Wednesday following beat policing and confidential information. The accused, Vansh, a native of Bijnor and currently living in Mamura, was arrested near an HP petrol pump on the service road in Sector 71, police said.A .315-bore country-made pistol and two illegal knives were also recovered from the accused, officials said.According to Central Noida ADCP Swatantra Kumar Singh, Vansh conducted reconnaissance in different parts of Delhi-NCR before targeting two-wheelers parked at isolated or deserted locations. The stolen vehicles were then kept at secluded places before being sold at low prices, police said.Police said the accused cited financial difficulties and allegedly used the proceeds for personal expenses and leisure activities. The weapons were acarried to intimidate people, officials said.Police records show that Vansh has 12 cases registered against him in Gautam Buddh Nagar since 2023. The cases include allegations of robbery, dealing in stolen property, narcotics, illegal arms and liquor, among other offences. Several cases were registered at Sector 58 and Phase-3 police stations.Police are now investigating the role of other gang members and verifying the ownership and theft cases linked to the recovered vehicles. They are also probing whether the gang was involved in similar offences elsewhere in Noida and Delhi-NCR.
