Pune: Pune traffic police have announced road closures and traffic diversions around Phadke Haud Chowk and Warje Malwadi on Friday in view of Janmashtami and Dahi Handi celebrations.The restrictions around Phadke Haud will be imposed from 4pm on Friday until the crowds disperse. Traffic heading from Jijamata Chowk towards Phadke Haud Chowk would be stopped and diverted via Ganesh Road. Depending on the traffic situation, motorists would be diverted through Gadgil Putla, Kumbharwada Chowk, Pawale Chowk, Maya Bakery and Devjibaba Chowk.The road between Sonya Maruti Chowk and Phadke Haud Chowk would also be closed to traffic. Commuters can use Laxmi Road instead.The stretch between Daruwala Bridge and Phadke Haud Chowk will be closed. Motorists can use Hamje Khan Chowk and Laxmi Road. The road between Moti Chowk and Phadke Chowk will also be closed. Motorists will be diverted via Kelkar Road, Gujarati High School and Ganesh Road.In the Warje traffic division, restrictions will be imposed on Friday and Saturday from 4pm until the crowds disperse. Vehicles travelling from Ambedkar Chowk towards Church Chowk will be diverted via Karve Road and Warje Junction. Traffic from Rajaram Bridge towards Ambedkar Chowk will be diverted via Kalmash Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk and other connecting roads.
