Bengaluru: The 16th edition of Aero India will be held at the Air Force Station, Yelahanka, between Feb 8 and 12, 2027, with online registration for exhibitors and booking of exhibition space opening on Sept 3, the ministry of defence (MoD) has confirmed.The announcement of dates comes close on the heels of the Indian Air Force (IAF) training confirming the venue — as Bengaluru — earlier this month. The IAF Training Command had said its Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Air Marshal S Shrinivas, briefed Karnataka chief minister DK Shivakumar on preparations for Aero India 2027, on Aug 4.The CM had assured cooperation from the state administration and departments for the event. Bengaluru has hosted every edition of Aero India since the show began.The five-day event will bring together aerospace and defence companies, policymakers, technology experts, industry representatives and defence forces personnel. It will feature exhibitions, business and strategic engagements, technology demonstrations and aerial displays by the IAF and participating international flying teams.Since the 2021 edition, Aero India has increasingly evolved beyond an air show into a platform for defence diplomacy and business engagements.“Aero India has emerged as a flagship international event showcasing the nation’s growing capabilities in aerospace, defence manufacturing, emerging technologies and innovation. It provides a dynamic platform for business engagement, technology exchange, international cooperation and strategic dialogue, while highlighting India’s expanding defence industrial ecosystem and its growing role in the global aerospace and defence sector,” MoD’s latest statement reads.At Aero India 2025, defence minister Rajnath Singh held bilateral meetings with defence ministers from Tanzania, Zambia, Algeria, Zimbabwe, Yemen, Ethiopia, Gambia and Gabon. The event also hosted a defence ministers’ conclave and CEOs’ roundtable.The 2025 edition saw 930 exhibitors and an exhibition area of 42,000 square metres, while the static display featured 34 aircraft, including Russia’s Su-57 and US F-35 fifth-generation fighters. Defence ministers and deputy ministers from 26 countries and senior officials from more than 80 nations attended.Online registration for Aero India 2027 will be facilitated through www.aeroindia.gov.in.
