Gorakhpur: Gorakhnath area resident and assistant professor at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow, Mangaldeep Gupta secured patent from Govt of India for developing a hardware-efficient pseudo-random number generator with potential applications in cryptography, secure digital communication and cyber security.The patent, granted to Gupta and his research collaborator Rajeev Kumar Chauhan, is titled ‘Hardware Efficient Pseudo-Random Number Generator Using Lorenz, Chen, Lü and Pehlivan Chaotic Systems on FPGA’.According to Gupta, the innovation enables the generation of pseudo-random numbers on an FPGA (field-programmable gate array)-based platform. Such numbers play a crucial role in encryption, secure communication protocols and generation of cryptographic keys, where unpredictability is essential for protecting sensitive digital information.Pseudo-random number generators are widely used in modern cyber security systems to create sequences that are difficult to predict, thereby strengthening data protection mechanisms. The patented technology is designed for applications that require robust and reliable pseudo-random sequences in hardware-based environments.Gupta said the patent represents culmination of years of research, experimentation and technological innovation. He added that the development could contribute to the advancement of hardware-driven security solutions at a time when demand for stronger digital protection and secure communication systems is growing rapidly.
