Farmers’ union delegation submits memorandum to Haryana agriculture minister
A delegation of farmer leaders submitted a memorandum to Haryana agriculture and farmers welfare, fisheries and animal husbandry minister Shyam Singh Rana

YAMUNANAGAR: A delegation of farmer leaders led by Bharatiya Kisan Union Charuni national president Gurnam Singh Charuni submitted a memorandum to Haryana agriculture and farmers welfare, fisheries and animal husbandry minister Shyam Singh Rana at his residence in Radaur on Thursday, seeking resolution of various farmers’ issues.The delegation demanded an increase in the sugarcane procurement price, commencement of paddy procurement from September 15, withdrawal of cases registered against farmers and early release of pending payments under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana.Rana heard the demands and said the state government was committed to safeguarding farmers’ interests and resolving their problems through dialogue.He said the demands would be discussed with chief ministerNayab Singh Saini and assured the delegation that those that could be addressed at the government level would be considered positively.The minister said the government was taking steps to improve facilities for farmers, make agriculture more remunerative and increase their incomes.
