Lucknow: BSP national president Mayawati has convened a national-level party meeting in Lucknow on Thursday, with senior leaders from all state units expected to attend.Party national convener Akash Anand, Mayawati’s nephew, may also be present, according to sources.The meeting will focus on finalising broad strategies for Assembly elections due in 2027 in key states, including Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat.Mayawati is expected to take first-hand feedback from leaders of poll-bound states on the evolving political situation, and then outline state-specific approaches based on their inputs.State units will also brief the party chief on organisational issues they face while strengthening structures at the district and booth levels. Leaders are expected to flag challenges related to cadre expansion, coordination and outreach, after which Mayawati will issue directions on addressing them.The last national-level meeting of the BSP was held in December 2025.
