Hyderabad: Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) officials issued three show-cause notices and four improvement notices after inspecting seven restaurants in Hyderabad on Saturday.Six teams comprising food safety officers and police personnel inspected Chutneys, Spice 6 and Ohri’s in Banjara Hills; The Spicy Venue in Jubilee Hills; 4 Seasons Multicuisine Restaurant and Shah Ghouse Restaurant in Tolichowki; and Pista House in Gachibowli.Officials found violations including poor hygiene, expired food products, improper storage and handling of food articles, spoiled vegetables, labelling lapses and pest infestation.“At Pista House in Gachibowli, violations were found in the storeroom area. We seized 15 kg of dry fruits, 24 kg of dry noodles and 5 kg of potato chips worth Rs 17,500 for misbranding violations. Samples of ghee and paneer were collected for analysis,” an official said.Overall, officials collected 11 food samples suspected of adulteration from all seven restaurants. The samples will undergo laboratory testing to assess compliance with food safety standards. Further action will depend on lab reports and responses from the establishments concerned with violations.–
