Gurgaon: A 65-year-old man died after a speeding car coming from Ankhir Gol Chakkar in Faridabad hit him on Wednesday night. The driver fled the spot without stopping.The victim — Lakshmi Narayan Tanwar, a resident of Mahesh Apartment in Faridabad — was walking home from a temple around 8.35pm when a car hit him from behind. According to the complaint filed by his daughter, Jyoti Chaudhary, the driver did not stop after the collision and fled.A neighbour, Aditya Gupta, who lives in the same apartment complex, found Tanwar injured and took him to Asian Hospital, where he was declared dead.A case has been registered against the unknown driver. Police are examining CCTV footage from the area to trace the vehicle. “We have listed two-three vehicles that passed through the area around the time of the accident. We are analysing the footage further to ascertain the sequence of events,” the officer said.Police are also examining footage from the stretch between the temple and Gol Chakkar. The vehicle and its driver are yet to be identified.
