Crane runs over 65-year-old woman in Gurgaon
The woman was walking home towards Rajendra Park when a crane allegedly hit her from behind

Gurgaon: A 65-year-old woman died allegedly after a hydraulic crane ran over her near a Toyota showroom on Daulatabad Main Road on Wednesday afternoon.Ramesh Devi was walking home towards Rajendra Park when a crane allegedly hit her from behind around 2.40pm. According to a complaint filed by her son Rajendra, the crane was travelling from Dwarka Expressway side at high speed and was being driven rashly and negligently. The vehicle’s front wheel ran over her after the collision. The driver fled, leaving the crane at the spot, the complaint stated.With the help of passersby, Rajendra took his mother to Civil Hospital, Sector 10. She was later shifted to SPES Hospital near Beri Wala Bagh, where she died during treatment.Based on Rajendra’s complaint, a case was registered at Rajendra Park police station under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS on Aug 26.In a separate accident, a 28-year-old man died after an unidentified vehicle allegedly hit him while he was crossing Sohna Road near ILD Trade Centre on Tuesday afternoon.Amit, a resident of Delhi, had come to a banquet in Gurgaon to learn photography and videography. According to a complaint filed by Amit’s grandfather Shripati Pathak, Amit travelled by metro to Huda City Centre and then took an e-rickshaw to the venue. As he got off near ILD Trade Centre and began crossing the road towards Sohna, an unidentified vehicle hit him, Pathak alleged.Amit sustained injuries to both legs and was taken to Shri Sai Hospital, Badshahpur, where he received treatment and was discharged. His condition later deteriorated, and his family took him to Medanta Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Police received information from Medanta on Aug 25 that Amit had been brought dead. A team reached the hospital and collected the medico-legal report and other documents. Pathak submitted his written complaint the following day, alleging that Amit died from external and internal injuries sustained in the accident.A case was registered at Sadar Gurgaon police station under sections 281 and 106 of BNS. Police are investigating the case and trying to identify the vehicle involved.
