Kolkata: The state govt has increased the monthly honorarium of civic volunteers by Rs 2,000, taking it from Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000. According to a notification issued by the state home and hill affairs department on Thursday, the enhanced honorarium will be applicable to civic volunteers engaged under both West Bengal Police and Kolkata Police with effect from Aug 1. The notification also clarified that there would be no change in any of the existing terms and conditions governing the engagement of civic volunteers.
